Rolling Bay Hall & SoundArts Presents... Motopony + Ezra Bell
MOTOPONY... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRbIPugu8SU ....a popular Seattle-based alt-psych-electro band led by singer Daniel Blue. With the success of their two full-length albums and a recording journey from the iconic Abbey Road studios, Motopony has toured halfway around the world and back playing festivals including SXSW, India's NH-7 Weekender, UPstream and Bumbershoot with 2018 US tours and dates all across the UK and Europe.
Blue and company have been hard at work crafting new music, after nearly a year in the studio and collecting field recordings from around the world, the forthcoming album has grown to over 30 individual tracks. Preceded by 11 digital singles, the physical album Fifty Katrinas From Now will include a fold-out listening station and full-color photo/lyric book with a double page for every song.
EZRA BELL ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=43&v=hjpk1mfEY8M ...is an Indie Folk act from Portland, Oregon featuring , Jeremy Asay (keys and tenor guitar), Aaron Mattison (horns and arrangements), Darren Moore (bass), Tom Trotter (drums), and backing up Benjamin Wuamett's story-songs and satirical jigs with organic precision. Carving a wide path through the musical spectrum, Ezra Bell brushes up against folk, jazz, blues, rock, pop, and R&B.
Benjamin Wuamett is one of the only constants between all of Ezra Bells many forms. Wuamett, the front man and vocalist of the band, has lent his unique voice to all of the groups songs. Wuametts voice carries a slight twang and adds another special sound to Ezra Bells already unique music. Wuamett sings with an intense passion that complements the instrumentation of Ezra Bells songs perfectly.
Ezra Bell's first full-length debut will be released on May 24th, 2018. Featuring ebullient soul twang, flowing and leaping like the music of a late 60s/early 70s recording of well-trained freaks dabbling in various genres. "The overall theme going into this? Desperation. A call to arms. A whimper. A declaration that being witty by yourself at 4 AM in a basement, is a poor way to live." After three well-received EPs, the playfully literate Wuamett and his gaggle of quite fit players, conjure up a festive dusky vibe that doesn't smother out the melancholy.
