The Outdoorsmen: Blood, Sweat, and Beers
"The Outdoorsmen," a documentary that offers "some of the most laugh out loud moments experienced all year" according to efilmcritic.com, follows an exclusive group of men who travel to a top-secret location in Washington State to compete in an all-day event they call The Outdoorsmen. They battle through a series of events that combine physical challenges with beer, "the great equalizer." For the past 14 years, this dedicated group has suffered through activities such as DEATH RACE 3000, THE SHUTTLE RUN, and BLIND MAN'S BEER. Braving freezing waters, treacherous riverbeds, and the rapid consumption of over 30 cases of beer, these responsible parents, husbands, and co-workers have one weekend a year to recapture their youth, cherishing the camaraderie of their fellow Outdoorsmen.
"The Outdoorsmen" played to packed houses at its 2005 premier at the Tribeca Film Festival, and an abridged, edited for television version of the film was picked up by Spike TV to air on February 2nd. It returns in style to NYC with a two-screening engagement at Tribeca Cinemas on Friday, February 17 and Saturday, February 18. This is a film best enjoyed with an audience and a cold beer, so join us as the bar opens at 7:00 p.m. and the film begins at 8:00. Trailers and additional information about the movie can be found at http://outdoorsmen.bside.com.
Voted "Best New NYC Venue" by the 2005 Bizbash Style Awards, Tribeca Cinemas is part of the Tribeca Film family. The venue features velvet-upholstered seats, and a concession lounge with full bar.
