If you were suddenly presented with one million dollars, the attention of a nation, and seven days to live - what would you do? Attempt to right some wrongs from your past? Blow it all in a Bacchanalian fit of excess? Or would you be too worried about your fate to enjoy it at all? Eldon Phelps, a burned-out loser in a small town bar, finds himself confronted by this very dilemma when a fast-talking reality TV executive offers him the chance to make something of himself. Eldon has the fortune and the fame, but also faces an inevitable fate at the hands of the American viewing public. While he spends both money and time, the audience judges the value of Eldon's life - by determining the method of his death.
