He is one of the most dynamic, influential and beloved Jewish musicians in North America. Dan's melodies have become an integral part of the spiritual and liturgical experience of countless individuals and Jewish communities. His best known songs, usually combining Hebrew and English, include "B'tzelem Elohim," "Chazak," "Kehilah Kedoshah," "Sweet as Honey," "Hoshia," and "L'takein (the Na Na Song)." Dan's music covers a wide range of sounds and styles, from energetic Jewish rock anthems to folky, lyrical interpretations of traditional Jewish liturgy. People of all ages from around the world have drawn inspiration from Dan's music and its positive message of Jewish values, identity and pride. Dan's live performances are legendary for their energy and infectious spirit. Dan (with his band, Eighteen) are the subject of a soon-to-be-released documentary, Road to Eden. Dan's new CD, The Sound of What Cannot Be Seen is his most fully realized album as a singer-songwriter, a rock and roll spiritual journey of the heart. In addition to his remarkable musical talents, Dan is a gifted teacher. He has served on the faculty of Hava Nashira (with Cantor Jeff Klepper,) since 2000. In 2009 he co-founded Shulhouse Rock, a songleading workshop for Jewish high-school students. DAN NICHOLS UNPLUGGED is being presented in honor of Cantor Jeff Klepper's 10th anniversary at Temple Sinai. Cantor Jeff Klepper says, "Each one of Dan's songs reflects an aspect of his spiritual search, and many of his songs have become anthems of the next generation of 21st-century Jews. I am so thrilled that Dan is coming to Temple Sinai; I love his music and I know you will too. Please join us on Sunday, March 3rd!" Dan Nichols says, "We're going to have a blast as we raise the roof in celebration of my friend and teacher, Cantor Jeff Klepper!"
