Jason and deMarco Live in Concert
Pop singing duo and real-life partners, Jason & deMarco, are setting out on the road again this February to spread their unique brand of inspiring music. Their journey of "Celebrating Families of Diversity" begins February 1st and will continue for 35 days through 22 southwest and west coast cities. This time, however, a few more family members are coming along. Jason's parents, Bob and Karen, will board the RV tour bus along with the family's newest additions: Jason & deMarco's one-year old twin sons, Mason and Noah.
"We're seeing more and more inter-racial families, same-sex parents, divorced parents, and single parent households. A non-traditional family is no longer the minority in our society. We plan to celebrate diversity with an evening of great music, stories and fun" says Jason. Jason & deMarco will share their personal adoption and surrogacy experience during the concert and tie it all together with music. They will also have their sons with them for everyone to meet face to face.
"We want people to feel inspired and to realize that they are not alone and that we are all part of one human family of diversity," says deMarco. "We also hope that children of non-traditional families will see that there are a lot of kids out there with a 'different' kind of family, and that it's not only okay, but freakin' awesome."
Opening for Jason &deMarco will be Bay Area singer/songwriter Andy Kong, a young artist who has won over audiences throughout the United States and Europe with his catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics and his dynamic live performance. He has toured extensively the last year and a half and has been featured on radio stations such as KRSH, KOZT, KWNE and KGO as a part of their annual segment, "The Best Music You've Never Heard". Writing, recording and producing every track on his own, Andy's music is enjoyably original.
Accompanying and performing alongside Jason & deMarco will be San Francisco based singer-songwriter Bobby Jo Valentine who has received numerous accolades and TV and radio appearances for his 2011 debut, including designation of Songwriter of the year by the West Coast Songwriter's Association, spots on KGO, KSVY and KRSH and ABC's "The Morning Blend" and NBC's "Outlook Video." Dubbed "the nicest guy ever to pick up an acoustic guitar" by LA Weekly, the pop-rock powerhouse was also recently featured in a commercial for the 2013 Ford Fusion.
The tour will commemorate Jason & deMarco's ten year anniversary as a singing duo. To encourage families to come out to their shows, kids age 17 and under are admitted free.
