PETS, a twisted fable of our urban homes, is co-produced by Changeup Theatre and Shadowland Theatre. This new play by Outside the March founding member Ishai Buchbinder will immerse a small audience in an evening that can be described as Looney Tunes meets Edward Albee. Staged in an old garage off Trinity Bellwoods park, PETS uses an ensemble of humans and a cadre of puppets to portray creatures trapped in a world they didnt choose and cant control. Come see this darkly comedic, site-engaged new Canadian play in a limited engagement.
PETS tells the story of Mouse's quest to join the house and claim her fair share of cuddles and comfort. But instead she finds a fanatical dog, a nihilistic cat, a happy-go-lucky cricket, three stupid weeds, and a crazy bird who can hear the Internet. When the order of the house breaks down, can they adapt? Or are they irredeemably dependent on the broken human?
