Tonight we hear from two rising stars of the Indie-Americana world. Best known for his writing credit in the first Twilight installment, British folk singer Bobby Longs latest record, Ode To Thinking (Compass Records), was completely fan-funded in under four weeks. Based in NYC since 2009, Long emerged from Londons club scene with a reputation for creating haunting songs that are sincere, simple and gracious. His refined acoustic guitar and articulate, earthy voice stand way out the singer-songwriter crowd.
Fellow NYC transplant Brian Dunne, originally from upstate NY, graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a songwriting style firmly grounded in Hank Williams, Neil Young, and Ryan Adams. His edgy, winking stage banter glues together well-crafted and unflinching songs about battles with cynicism, how we treat the people we love most, how we hang on to hope. He counts among his growing body of fans John Mayer, Liz Longley, and probably you once youve sat through his show.
