MOCKINGBIRD CLOSE by Trevor Schmidt
INpulse Theatre presents the Toronto premiere of MOCKINGBIRD CLOSE, by award-winning playwright and director, Trevor Schmidt, at The Red Sandcastle Theatre Sept. 8-16, 2017. This will be the Toronto premiere of any play by Schmidt, who is a prominent figure in Canadian theatre.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Meet the perfect family: Iris, Hank, and their small son. They live in a nice home in a nice, crime-free gated neighborhood: Mockingbird Estates. Then something happens and their little boy disappears.
There's a panic that happens, even in a grown man, when his son disappears.
The frantic parents rush out into the night and begin to scour their cul-de-sac for clues. They knock on doors, but their neighbors are not forthcoming. Even Iris and Hanks memories are unreliable witnesses. Instead, we learn the street holds many untold, buried secrets. And throughout it all, "the witch" watches "from the dark black mouth that is the entrance to Mockingbird Close"...
Fairy tale combines with cautionary fable; truth collides with fiction; and no one is quite who he or she seems.
