Marilyn Kleinberg: "LOVE ALL WAYS"
Marilyn's stage presence, confidence and time honored soulful voice hearkens back to that ol Harlem diva style. I'ts as if the internationally renowned and much loved American jazz and blues singers such as Gloria Lynn and Ernestine Anderson passed the torch to her in gratitude for keeping the jazz flame alive. Shes the real deal.
Marilyn, child of the boogie down Bronx and daughter of comedian Bernie Allen, started her singing career in schoolyard cappella groups. As a teenager, she toured the U.S. with various rock, pop and soul bands and it was on this journey that she found JAZZ.
With her sassy, sultry and sometimes rather bawdy style, she quickly became an admired vocalist in the Greenwich Village venues, such as Seventh Avenue South (The Brecker Brothers Hip Club), 55 Grand 9 (a mecca for musicians ), Sweet Basil (Rhythm), the Blue Note, Smalls and Mezzrow. Her star list of accompanist, include Kenny Kirkland, Harry Whitaker, Larry Willis, John DiMartino, Ron Carter, Jaco Pastorius, Buster Williams, Alex Blake, Hiram Bullock, Cindy Blackman, Victor Lewis, Buddy Williams, Saul Rubin, Pat O'Leary and drummer Frank Levatino.
In tonight's show, "LOVE ALL WAYS", Marilyn delights the audience with her interpretations of love. You can have love my way, your way or in some cases the highway! But with songs such as I Didn't Know What Time It Was, My Foolish Heart and Old Devil Moon, were reminded of just how intoxicating love really is. Marilyn is funny, and shes sexy, so beware, she may touch every romantic place in your body and soul and without a doubt, your heart.
At the heart of it all is Marilyn, moving in the humanity of its sound, commanding in cadence of her phrasing. She makes each song a story worth hearing over and over. Russ Musto, NYC

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by."
