Cranbrook Estate Tours - Open House London 2017
Cranbrook Estate is an iconic modernist development designed by Berthold Lubetkin, Francis Skinner and Douglas Bailey in the 1960s. We are delighted to be taking part in Open House London for the second time and welcoming visitors to our wonderful home.
As last year, we will be providing free guided tours which will include a visit to the interior of a flat decorated in mid-century style to complement the building's heritage.
However, following extremely high demand for these guided tours last year, we have had to restrict numbers this year. You must register your attendance on one of the guided tours in advance using this online form.
If you have missed out on a place on a guided tour, please rest assured that you can still visit the estate on the day, where other activities will include: - self-guided tour sheets taking you round the exterior of the estate - a photo exhibition showing the area before, during and after the building of the estate - visits to the award-winning Cranbrook Community Food Garden where locally grown produce will be available to take home in return for a donation.
We look forward to seeing you!

Q&A
Question: |
OK wasn't registered when this was first sent so apologies if you have already received it but my question was if someone who is booked in doesn't turn up for any of the tours can anyone else take their place> |
Answer: |
Hi there, yes if someone doesn't turn up we will fill their places on a first-come first-served basis on the day. However, I can't guarantee when/ if that might happen! The tours were extremely popular last year, which is why we introduced a pre-booking system this year. Even if you cannot get onto one of the guided tours, you can still do a self-guided tour around the outside of the estate, plus view the photo exhibition in the community centre, and visit our award-winning community garden. So it is definitely worth coming to visit anyway, and if a place opens up on a tour that will be a bonus! :-) |
