Trans Pride: The Party!
It's the official party for the Trans Pride 2017 weekender. Expect a night of music, DJs, art, crafts and performance! Putting the T first. We'll be taking over the whole North Laine brewhouse for a long night of fun.
Behind the decks:
** DJ S/HE (Tomboys Don't Cry) - Transgender DJ from Milan, where he runs Gender Sux! a weekly queer event, S/HE has played for various LGBTQIA+ parties in London (Club Lesley, T Club, Wotever and Lemon Juice). He's also part of the queer collective Tomboys Don't Cry and his high-energy djsets are a mix of deep-house, electro, queer hop and tech-house. We're excited to have him back at Trans Pride this year!
More TBA
In the room:
** Krishna Istha and Jacob V Joyce // collaborative durational performance // Will you dare to join in? - Krishna Istha is a live artist and performance maker. Their comedic political acts and alter egos focus on queer culture, gender politics and feminism. Currently, Krishna is in Wild Bore at the Malthouse Theatre (Melbourne). - Jacob V Joyce is a non binary interdisciplinary artist that disrupts commercial and community spaces with queer and decolonial, creative interventions. Their art work, comic books and zines address personal and global instances of systemic oppression.
** Roaming entertainment from Victoria the Translady Magician. Born with magic powers. Raised by witches. Now eats three sensible meals a day and uses her magic powers for good not evil (most of the time)
**The Museum of Transology: how do you make your own history? What makes you and represents you? A mini participatory exhibition about you!
VENUE: The venue is wheelchiar accessible. Staff and security will be debriefed about the event and around diversity, pronouns etc. On the night, the venue will be closed to the public, and only in use for Trans Pride attendees and ticket holders, to help ensure it is a safer space for attendees.
ID: If you look under 18, and are not comfortable/are anxious showing your ID to security person etc etc etc please get in touch. That should be no reason to not come out and hang out with your queer family. We are committed to help make this smooth, so please get in touch and we'll arrange for you to come into the venue with us.
Tickets: last year the party sold out leaving not a few disapponted people out. Please make sure you get your ticket in advance here:
