The Singing Fellows of Viipuri - Seattle
Viipurin Lauluveikot, The singing fellows of Viipuri, second oldest male choir from Finland will tour the West coast of US west starting in Seattle on August 27th. Later on 7/28, in Bellingham, 7/29, in Vancouver, BC and in September in the San Francisco Bay area on 9/3 and the final concert in Los Angeles on the 7th of September.
The choir visited the USA 40 years ago and in the present choir there are still a few members from the previous tour.
This choir was established in 1897 in Viipuri and this tour is a part of Finland's Centennial celebration, 100 year Independence as a sovereign country from Russia.
The tour is sponsored by the Finlandia Foundation National and local chapters on the west coast.
