"PROM NIGHT" with Heather Christian
"PROM NIGHT with HC" is an intimate night of moon crooning with special guest Ian Axness. Together they will perform a smattering of the best slow dance songs American Pop music has to offer alongside classical reveries and a handful of songs Christian wrote when under the influence of too much wanting. Tonight is a night in celebration of the schmoop, the disco ball, the swoon. Come with a partner for foreplay, come alone for hearty sighing and champagne.
HEATHER CHRISTIAN is an Obie Award winning composer/performer. Composing/Performing credits include Mission Drift Natl Theater London, The World Is Round BAM, Annie Salem Ars Nova/Sundance Theater Lab, Of Mice and Men West Yorkshire Playhouse, and North, LaMama ETC. She has recently emerged as a film composer(Lemon, Sundance and SXSW, Gregory Go Boom, Sundance Grand Jury Prize) and writes incidental music for plays: Emily Climbs (the Brick NYC), Daily Life Everlasting (LaMama NYC), the entire 2016 season at Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (Macbeth, As you Like It, Measure For Measure). She is a long time collaborator in devised theater with the TEAM, Jane Comfort Company, Salty Brine, Mac Wellman, Big Dance Theater, Taylor Mac, and Witness Relocation. She was recently named one of TimeOut NY's Downtown Innovators To Watch. She has recently been seen in Taylor Macs 24 Decade History of Popular Music and in Toshi Reagons Parable of the Sower. She has released 8 records, taught an Atelier at Princeton, owns and operates her own recording studio in Beacon, NY, and can be seen all over the world as Heather Christian & the Arbornauts in concert halls and dive bars avant-torching. www.heatherchristian.com

Ian Axness is a collaborative music director and pianist based in New York City, working between forms of concert music and contemporary theater. He arranges music for plays and secret dinners, devises semi-improvised variety shows, and coordinates musical performance for numerous types of musical theater. Ian has worked with organizations including the New York Philharmonic, New Dramatists, Yale Rep, York Theatre, 92nd Street Y, Julliard, Brooklyn College, NYU Gallatin, and New York City Opera. Selected credits: Beardo, Clown Bar (Pipeline Theatre); A Ride on the Irish Cream (Abrons), Pericles (Two River), Mermaiden (Spring Street Social Society), The Threepenny Opera (Atlantic), Political Subversities (Ars Nova & The PIT). Faculty: Playwrights Horizons Theater School.
Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food or beverage minimum at the tables. DINNER SEATING BEGINS AT 6:30PM.
Please arrive one half hour prior to the show and allow additional time if you are planning to have a dinner.
Late arrivals will be seated at management's discretion.
