Medieval and Renaissance Music of France
The Womens Antique Vocal Ensemble (WAVE) will present a concert of medieval and Renaissance music from France. From medieval caroles and motets, the Mass of Tournai, and pieces by Dufay to the rich polyphony of the Renaissance by various composers, including Arbeau, Willaert, Passereau, Janequin, the concert will offer a variety of musical flavors and styles. In this concert of various aspects of love, you will hear beautiful bird songs ranging from chickens to nightingales. WAVE will be joined by Bay Area instrumentalists including Shira Kammen and Peter Maund, Joyce Johnson Hamilton, Howard Kadis and others.
