Melomane Music Festival

Mélomane is a French word meaning "music lover" or for the love of music. And, in its sixth year, the Mélomane Music Festival has grown from a small friends and family gathering to a public, community event with expanded mission and reach: encouraging and supporting local Southern Oregon musicians.

The Mélomane Foundation was founded with the mission of honoring the life of Josh Wrenn Guillory, a local musician who grew up in the Rogue Valley. Josh was, by definition, a true Mélomaniac, who avidly played music and was skilled in many instruments. In his younger teen years, Josh was a founding member of the local punk rock band Virus 9. Josh passed away in 2012.

Today, five years later, the Mélomane Foundation is an Oregon State 501(c)-3 non-profit organization with a multi-dimensional objective. The primary focus is to raise much needed funds for local Southern Oregon K-6, Junior High and High School level music programs. In addition to fundraising, Mélomane offers business, educational, and scholarship opportunities including opportunities for live performances, interaction with music and industry professionals, insight into producing live events, internship level hands on production involvement, and contests and enrichment opportunities to provide insight and knowledge into the actual music industry.

It is Mélomanes goal that providing valuable insight and information into the reality of living your life as a musician will help local musicians obtain those dreams.
