Blood Brothers A Rock Musical at the San Marcos Price Center
Blood Brothers, written by Willy Russell author of Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine, opened in London's West End at the Lyric Theatre in 1983 to critical acclaim and subsequently won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and Best Actress in its first year. Since then Blood Brothers has accumulated a host of awards including six Tony nominations and has become one of the longest running musicals on the West End.
Blood Brothers, is at first a story of two brothers Mickey and Edward separated at birth who quite innocently find each other as children. Although neither is aware of their real relationship, they quickly form a very deep bond, much to the chagrin of their mothers who, each for her own reason, need the secret to remain concealed. All underscored by jazzy coffee house rock beats and heart rending ballads, the story ultimately descends to a drug fueled jealousy which leads to its foretold tragedy!
Director Karin Cunningham has been very fortunate to have cast some of the areas most accomplished and talented actors, including Kevin Gates as the Narrator, Denton Collie as Mickey, James Pearce as Edward, Lindsey Burnett as Mrs. Lyons, Madison Tatman as Linda and Bridget Farias-Gates as Mrs. Johnstone. Filling out the multiple role ensemble are Dusty Derrick, Jason Foreman, William Goss, Karl Morton, Lisa Pitcher, Leah Pullin and Stephanie Pearce.
You won't want to miss this compelling tragedy so make your plans now to join us at one of the six performances running from April 21st thru May 6th on Friday & Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets will available at the door $15 & $10 for students & seniors.
