On May 13th, 2017, Marcus Mosely (Artistic Director of MMC & recent inductee into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame) will finally fulfill a commitment made 13 years earlier with the release of the first-ever Marcus Mosely Chorale CD. Friends of Marcus had convinced him to record some of his songs but life got in the way of this project.
In September, 2011, Marcus established the Marcus Mosely Chorale, a community choir with a focus on gospel music and songs of social justice. After waiting for the "right sound", Mosely feels the Chorale has achieved this level ; African American gospel with influences of pop. jazz and reggae. All but two of the songs on the CD are original compositions by Mosely, Darlene Ketchum (Chorale Director) & Bill Sample (Musical Director). In Marcus' words, " We're calling the CD "Labour of Love' because it really has been " (referring to the musical synergy and personal friendship of the directors and the Chorale members).
