***Due to the nature of the play and size of venue, late arrivals will not be seated, nor will they be refunded.
After a harrowing escape from a shipwreck, a man named Edwards is rescued and brought to a remote island inhabited by the strange and mysterious Dr. Moreau and his assistant Dr. Montgomery. The other inhabitants are the creatures Moreau has created, hybrid crosses of animals and men.
Adapted loosely from the H.G. Wells novel, The Island of Dr. Moreau: A Fever Dream Steeped in Blood is a monodrama, written, directed, and performed by Charles P. Stites, nine-time B.Iden Payne award nominee.
The play premiered at the FonteraFest in 2014 and was named by the Austin Chronicle as one of the top ten performances of that year. The piece also played a brief engagement at the Emerald Tablet Gallery in San Francisco, and was awarded a San Francisco Bay Area Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Performance.
