Unstitched: The Art of Sari Draping
The Indo-American Heritage Museum is proud to bring renowned textile designer, author and sari historian Rta Kapoor Chisti to the Chicago area for an exploration of sari history and fashion. Ms. Chisti has spent decades researching the regional variations of both weaving and wearing this most representative apparel of India. Ms. Chisti works with weavers from 15 states of India to produce amazing fabrics and saris, along with running The Sari School!
Did you know that the sari can be draped in over 100 ways? The event features a brief lecture, sari draping demonstration and fashion show, and begins with morning cocktails before a buffet lunch.
