Resonance Women's Chorus: Conversations with the World
In a divided and confusing time, we offer a concert about listening and speaking, empathy and engagement, truth and beauty, life and death, searching and soul.
We're honored to include two excellent and timely short films in the concert:
The debut showing of (In)visible Boulder County, a ten-minute film created by One Thousand Design and sponsored by Boulder County Community Services Department, in partnership with the Circles Campaign, Boulder County Head Start, Sister Carmen Community Center, EFAA, Out Boulder County, Attention Homes and Intercambio. The film was created as a way to start the conversation about many of the vulnerable populations found throughout Boulder County - the working poor, immigrants, youth in crisis and transgender communities. The trailer can be seen at https://vimeo.com/170060367.
A compelling video adaptation of a talk given by psychologist/researcher Glenda Russell shortly after the election, at an event called Moving Toward Collective Liberation. This seven-minute "guidebook" -- part history lesson, part call to collective action, and part balm for the progressive soul -- focuses on using Trump's election as a springboard to activism and to individual and community growth. Filmmaker Corinna Robbins created the video.
Resonance Women's Chorus is a 125-voice women's community chorus directed by Sue Coffee and based in Boulder, Colorado. We sing contemporary choral music with messages of social awareness.
