The Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (D.R.I.) had to cancel all their October 2012 shows due to Spike suffering from a serious complication caused by his extended cancer treatments. He landed in the hospital, had to have some nasty sounding surgery, and all that just after his mom passed away. Spike's been fighting cancer for a few years now, but obviously he's tough as nails, and D.R.I. are ready to hit the road again in November!
However, no matter how tough Spike is, his medical bills are staggering.
Several of us here at Brown Paper Tickets are long time D.R.I. fans. We've seen the band live through the years, all the way back to the early days in the 1980s. We still have and listen to their records.
When we saw that the October D.R.I. shows listed with Brown Paper Tickets were cancelled due to Spike's health, we wanted to do what we could to help. We set up this donation page. 100% of any and all funds donated through this site listing will go directly to the Spike Cassidy Cancer Relief Fund. On top of that, Brown Paper Tickets will match donations up to $2,500.00.
We wish Spike a quick recovery and look forward to D.R.I. getting back on the road in November, and long in to the future.
