Comedia Remix
Legendary actor and director of the Comedy Theater in Bucharest, George Mihaita, together with theater critic and curator Cristina Modreanu, are coming to Seattle. They will be presenting "Comedia Remix" (79 min. 2014), a truly unmissable documentary about the Golden Age of Romanian theater and will hold a Q& A session with the public after the movie.
One of the most beloved Romanian actors of all times, George Mihaita will talk about his successful career managing The Comedy Theater and will perform a special one-man show, drawing on a selection of texts by famous Romanian authors, such as Marin Sorescu, Nichita Stanescu, Ion Minulescu, Mircea Dinescu, etc.

George Mihaita is a Romanian actor, director and philanthropist. Beloved film icon, renowned for his distinctive voice, he worked as an actor for more than forty years, both in cinema and theater, and has appeared in over 70 films. During the last six years he has been the director of The Comedy Theater in Bucharest. He is also the founder and director of FESTCO - The Festival of Romanian Comedy in Bucharest.

Starting 2014 theater critic Cristina Modreanu has begun working with The Comedy Theater in Bucharest as an artistic adviser. Modreanu helps with ideas and recommendations for the repertory of this public institution which administers 3 venues in the city of Bucharest. Cristina Modreanu worked with The Comedy Theater before, for the 2005 and 2006 editions of the festCo Festival.

Comedia Remix  is an engaging dialogue between the present and the past, using unique archival materials and interviews with iconic Romanian actors (such as Radu Beligan, Stela Popescu, George Mihaita and many others).  The film aims to reconstruct the history of  The Comedy Theater in Bucharest, while analyzing the socio-political complexities of Communist and Post- Communist Romania.
