More About Our Guests...
Ben Wysocki (The Fray) Ben Wysocki is the drummer for Denver-based piano rock band The Fray. Ben began playing the drums in the sixth grade, after struggling through some parent-requested piano lessons. His ambition to become a drummer spawned soon afterward, and by the seventh grade he joined his first band, Ember, which shared other future members of The Fray, including singer-pianist Isaac Slade and guitarist Dave Welsh. Though Ember may have not caught fire, the trio would soon find each other again in The Fray, adding guitarist Joe King, in 2002.
The Fray achieved mainstream success with their debut album, How to Save a Life in 2005. Theyve since followed it up with four additional albums, culminating in their latest releaseThrough the Years: The Best of The Fray (2016).
Nate Barnes (Mary Chapin Carpenter) With over 15 years of experience in the music industry, Nate Barnes has drummed with Pete Townshend (The Who), Warren Haynes, Leslie West (Mountain), Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ryan Bingham, Rose Hill Drive, Grace Potter, Matisyahu, Mike Watt, and many others. He has toured the world headlining shows and opening for acts such as The Who, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Willie Nelson, Stone Temple Pilots, The Black Crowes, Queens Of The Stone Age, Janes Addiction, and more.
Nate lives in Erie, CO with his wife Holly, son Lleyton, daughter Campbell, and dog Bailey.
Brian Nevin (Big Head Todd) Brian Nevin is the drummer for Big Head Todd & The Monstersa Colorado band that tirelessly toured their way into legendary status. During the 80s and early 90s, the band jumped from college town to town, knocking on doors, looking for gigs, writing the often dreamt-of, but rarely realized, tale of a high school band making it.
In 1991, they played their first show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, as part of the Blues on the Rocks festival. Watching legends like Etta James take the stage, Nevin recalled feeling unworthy to share the ticket. It was humbling then, and it still is, Nevin told 5280. Red Rocks is the one place we play thats really special.
