The 5th Annual Red Hook Prom- United in LOVE!
HOLY TUXEDO! RED HOOK PROMS TURNS FIVE!!!
Begun in 2013 as a much needed, community wide spirit lifter following Hurricane Sandy, THE RED HOOK PROM has brought together MORE community members, fly moves, sassy outfits and - say it loud - LOOOOOOVE than any other Cora event over the past five years. 2017 is RHP's 5TH ANNIVERSARY, and our event this year is sponsored by local hair salon ELEMENTS Hair Design. Get yourself ready for more decades (it's 70s,
80s AND 90s this year y'all!) and more party-time (we're goin' until 12am!), meaning more great music, dancing and FUN FOR YOU! It's a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN PARTY, so EVERYONE IS INVITED! The annual dance party and silent auction for grown-ups supports the pay-what-you-can dance programs of Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance. Cora Dance offers
outstanding professional performances and classes year-round in Red Hook and beyond! Coras mission is to provide exceptional dance experiences while addressing the impediments that restrict individuals from accessing the art form. NO ONE is ever turned away from Cora based on what or if they can pay, and the PROM is no different!
We once again return to South Brooklyn Community High School for an evening of elegance and romance that only a real high school gym can provide! In addition, our best friends are back to make this evening a night to remember:
After spinning the '80s hits that just won't quit to over 500 dancing fools at the past four Red Hook Proms, DJ Body Rock is back by popular demand to keep you dancing - as Lionel Richie would say - "all night long"! Have your dedications ready!
Dry Dock (with their AMAZING spiked-punch), and SixPoint will all be stocking our bar, and MVS Photo Booth will be on hand to capture all of the fun!
The professional dancers and students from Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance will be leading the crowd in, like, totally awesome performances!
On this night, Cora will also hold an incredible Silent Auction with amazing deals ranging in value from $20 to $5000. There's something for everyone!
