Newly formed in 2015, Strobe presents music arranged and written for oboe and strings. The ensemble includes seasoned musicians who perform regularly in major orchestras in the Bay Area. Their mission is to create an expanded repertoire for this unusual ensemble by commissioning new works by living composers. This concert features the first newly-commissioned quartet for Strobe by the American composer Vincent Russo, who has written works for orchestra and chamber ensembles, as well as for television and film. Performing Mozarts Divertimento; String Trio by Kodaly; Gordon Jacobs Oboe Quartet; and a newly-commissioned work by American composer, Vincent Russo.
Performers are Laura Griffiths, oboe; Stephanie Bibbo, violin; Caroline Lee, viola; and Krisanthy Desby, cello.
