FREE Workshop with David Zinn
Join in a DAY of FREE SUMMER FUN for young people and people young at heART!
August 26, 2017, 9:00am 12:00pm; snacks at 8:30am Blaine Memorial United Methodist Church
Famous artist David Zinn (http://tinyurl.com/yblcl6vp) is bringing his inspiring, whimsical chalk art workshop to Seattle to give our spirits a mid-summer boost. He will inspire us to experience and create his unique temporary street art on walls and public sidewalks in our neighborhoods. It is not necessary to be an artist, and his work never fails to provide surprises, joy and laughter for everyone involved.
David will teach teams of people of all ages how to create eye-catching pop-up art in his morning workshop. He uses chalk, charcoal and found objects and his craft is ideally suited for temporary street art improvisation. Following the workshop, each team will return to their communities and continue having fun.
Our goal is to form teams of intergenerational people representing neighborhoods throughout the city. Their role is to attend the workshop as a team where they will learn the basics of chalk art. Then, they will return to their neighborhoods and produce their neighborhood temporary art pop-up.
This event is FREE and open to the public. A big THANK YOU to the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods for their grant to cover the cost of this event ($150.00 value for each team)!
Please register for this unique initiative as follows:
