In the crowded field of young bluegrass bands, Barefoot Movement is a stand out. Winners of the Momentum Award (for best and brightest newcomers) from the International Bluegrass Music Association, this exuberant quartet crowds around a single mic and lets it rip with traditional barn-burners, tender ballads, lush harmonies, and classic rock-inspired originals. They're southern kids (North and South Carolina, Mississippi) who dedicated themselves to roots music as teens. By the time they graduated from conservatory they were ready to hit the ground running, with tours overseas and back and forth across the US, playing the bluegrass festivals, concert halls, back porches, and rowdy bars. The Barefoot Movement has been called "one of the most promising bands in bluegrass music" (CMT Edge) & we're pleased to bring them back to their growing Capital Disctrict fanbase.
