HURRICANE SANDY HAS SPOKEN!

ALTHOUGH OUR VENUE HAS POWER THIS WEEKEND, MUCH OF BERGEN COUNTY REMAINS IN THE DARK .

WITH LOCAL ROADS BLOCKED BY DOWNED TREES AND MANY STREET LIGHTS OUT OF ORDER,  WE FEAR THAT IT  WILL NOT  BE SAFE FOR OUR PATRONS TO VENTURE OUT TO OUR  CONCERT THIS SATURDAY.

FORTUNATELY THE UNITARIAN SOCIETY IS AVAILABLE NEXT FRIDAY!!

WE HOPE THAT THOSE OF YOU WHO WERE PLANNING TO COME THIS WEEKEND WILL STILL BE ABLE TO JOIN US FOR THIS VERY SPECIAL 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AND THAT PERHAPS THOSE OF YOU WHO COULDN'T COME THIS WEEKEND WILL BE FREE TO COME NEXT FRIDAY.

ONLY THE CONCERT DATE HAS CHANGED
[ALL OTHER  INFORMATION REGARDING OUR CONCERT REMAINS THE SAME- SEE BELOW]

Palisades Virtuosi has been creating new works through their "Mission to Commission" since 2003.  They have commissioned 35 new pieces for flute, clarinet & piano in just 9 years. In addition they have been gifted with works commissioned in honor of PV and also  with composer transcriptions of existing works bringing their total to 60 new works for their ensemble.

This concert will feature the World Premiere of newly commissioned work by JEFF SCOTT - "Poem for a Lost King" - this musical poem has been written as a metaphorical homage for the countless African kings, chiefs and village elders expelled and abducted from their homeland during the middle passage. More about composer and hornist, Jeff Scott:

The program will also include PV favorites: "Sinfonia Concertante" - Franz Danzi, "Sonate" - Maurice Emmanuel and PV's FIRST commissioned work "Lep-i-dop-ter-o-lo-gy" [2003] by Aaron Grad.

PV will also bestow its 6th Young Artist Recognition Award to a local High School student who excels in both music and leadership.

The evening will begin with a Pre Concert Talk at 7:15 with the Artists and Composers and end with a Champagne & Cake celebration.
