ACLU Benefit feat. Patrick Coman and Ryan Lee Crosby
Rise up, be engaged, get involved! Proceeds from this show will benefit ACLU, American Civil Liberties Union! The bucket will also be passed at the show for further donations.
Its true, Im a long way from home, Patrick Coman says with a faint twang that remains the most enduring clue to his beginnings south of the Mason-Dixon line. A fixture of Bostons vibrant roots music scene as a performer, organizer of the New England Americana Festival and the For the Sake of the Song series, and as the host of Local Folk on Bostons Americana radio station WUMB, Coman has made much of his five years in the Northeast, but it doesnt quite yet feel like home.
An Okie from just north of Muskogee, Patrick grew up under the spell of his hometowns famed Tulsa Sound. Equal parts red dirt, blues, rock, soul, and country this unique regional sound was the perfect template for a budding songwriter with a voracious and wide-ranging appetite for roots music.
Coman just released a new video for his single When The Bill Comes Due. It's his first political video and gives a non-flinching look at the state of our country.
Ryan Lee Crosby is an American guitarist, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Boston, Massachusetts. A versatile, exploratory musician with a restless drive to create, Crosby's unique sound is a fusion of American blues and world music influences, which he performs on 12 and 20 string guitars. In his time as an active artist, Crosby has produced 5 albums, 3 EPs and a film score, as well as having performed live across the US and around the world. Whether playing solo or leading a full band, Crosby's intricate playing, propulsive rhythms and dynamic vocals create a sound that confronts listeners with an immediacy rarely found in the work of traditional singer/songwriters.
Crosby will have a limited edition Live From Europe CD available for sale from www.ryanleecrosby.com. Proceeds from the CD sales will be donated to ACLU.
