Harvest and Herbal Workshop-Spring Edition
Join us for the Galiano Harvest & Herbal Workshop, Spring Edition: two beautiful days on Galiano Island in a stunning coastal forest at the Millard Learning Centre.
Visit the Galiano Conservancys own cutting-edge forest garden. Walk Galianos beautiful Douglas fir forest and discover the wild plants that live there, learning their roles in the ecosystem and their traditional medicinal uses and how to ethically harvest them. Quench your thirst with handcrafted teas, tisanes, shrubs (sipping vinegars) and sodas in this springtime workshop.
Enjoy a fresh seasonal lunch that youve harvested from the forest garden and prepared together.
Learn to make your own custom Wild Sodas and Kombuchas flavoured with your favourite native and forest garden plants.
Relax with a herbal steam and sip delightful teas and decoctions tailored to your own tastes and desires.
Learn to make tasty infused honeys from native and forest garden plants.
Youll leave with your creations along with the knowledge of how to recreate each of the weekends projects at home and a sense of how people and forests can work together, for each others benefit, in a sustainable future.
Note: we are looking for two volunteers to help us deliver this workshop. We will pay your workshop fees. Apply here: http://galianoconservancy.ca/herbal-harvest-volunteer-application/
