World-renowned dance instructor Steve Weintraub offers an overview of the Yiddish style of dance, from the improvisational freylekhs to popular dances borrowed and adapted from Romania and Moldova such as the zhok, bulgar, and sirba. Special attention will be paid to typical movement patterns and body language that make even freestyle dancing Yiddish. With musical accompaniment by accordionist Lauren Brody. _____________________________________________________________
