"STORIES" starring Bianca Leigh
The show is presented as part of HAPPY * CRY * PRETTY!
HAPPY * CRY * PRETTY! is an 8-week performance series presented by TWEED TheaterWorks, Kevin Malony Artistic Director.
As a way to honor my recently deceased father, and understand our complex relationship, I will be sharing memories, both good and not-so-good, as well as a few songs about the journey to acceptance and understanding between my macho dad and me, his Trans Daughter. It was an often often bumpy ride, sometimes hilarious, but ultimately loving and accepting on both sides.
Bianca Leigh is an actress, singer, writer and director. Miss Leighs roles include Mary Ellen in the groundbreaking film Transamerica, the original Time/Wind in Taylor Macs theatre epic The Lilys Revenge, Franny Halcyon in the New York and San Francisco workshops for the musical Tales of the City, and the conniving Livia in Theatre Askews I, Claudius, Live. Bianca wrote and performed her acclaimed solo musical, BUSTED, the harrowing yet highly amusing tale of a young transwoman in 1980s New York, at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Miss Leigh adapted, directed, and performed as Mae West in the reading of a new musical about Maes life (and afterlife), Come Up N See Me. Most recently, Bianca played Tatiana in Paul Lucas Trans Scripts Part I: The Women at American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge.
