Permit to Sojourn featuring Island Spice Dance Co.
Sojourn to the dazzling cabaret stage of the Moulin Rouge in Paris, the glamorous nightclubs alongside the Pyramids in Cairo, and a vivacious Carnival celebration in Rio de Janeiro. No passport is required! The show includes three unique dance performance sets punctuated by international music and open dancing, so you, too, can let your feet take you away. The talented chefs at Edible World Institute bring you a menu infused with French and Middle Eastern specialties that is sure to send your taste buds soaring.

ABOUT ISLAND SPICE DANCE CO. Island Spice Dance Co. features three top international dance artists specializing in Egyptian Belly Dance, Brazilian Rio Style Samba, French Cabaret and Can Can, and a variety of other international dance styles. Artistic Director Najla has 32 years dance experience in 17 countries and is the former Artistic Director and founder of award-winning Fleurs dEgypte Dance Co. based in Seattle. She recently moved to the Big Island after spending 3 years performing on contract at luxury hotels and on cruise ships in the Middle East. Stephanie Bolton has been dancing for 17 years and teaching in the Kona community for 7 years. She founded Incense: a SEED program that offers after school mentoring through dance & art to teen girls. Michelle Leigh has 19 years dance experience specializing in Egyptian-style belly dance infused with her passion of world dance. She is a founding member of the Saltanah Dancers of Santa Fe, NM, where she produced and performed in hundreds of shows prior to moving to Hawaii in 2015.
ABOUT EDIBLE WORLD INSTITUTE Edible World Institute is a community supported, food-focused educational organization. Its purpose is to teach people how to cook and share food, with a special focus on locally grown harvests and rich Hawaiian culture. They teach through hands-on participation and invite chefs, scholars, and teachers and students, from around the world to teach and learn with them. Edible World Institute is dedicated to promoting healthy food systems: individually, communally, and globally. They believe that for food to be nutritious, it must be fresh. And to be fresh, food must be local. The cycle of sustainability begins with each individual and ripples out into the greater community. Edible World Institutes aim is to promote grassroots processes that can be successful for individuals and in any community.
