Salty Brine and Heather Christian want to get Close to You this Valentines Day. Its every hit single from the superstars of soft rock, The Carpenters, lovingly reimagined and dutifully performed by two of your favorite downtown darlings. Salty Brine is a New York-based actor, playwright, and cabaret artist.He is the creative force behind The Spectacular Living Record Collection Cabaret, a series of performances built around popular albums.Time Out New York has called him the love child of a Paul Lynde, Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey in Cabaret threeway. Heather Christian is the daughter of a blues musician and a go-go dancer and is an Obie Award winning composer/performer.She is a recent Sundance Fellow and Ars Nova Uncharted Member with new musicalAnnie Salem,alongside Rachel Chavkin. Recent composing/performing credits include her own multi-media concertsAnimal Wisdom(Set to premiere in 2017) and North(LaMama NYC), the TEAM'sMission Drift,(National Theater in London) Ripe Time'sThe World is Round(BAM NYC),Of Mice and Men(West Yorkshire Playhouse), the entire summer '16 season at Hudson Valley Shakespeare ("Macbeth", "As you Like It", "Measure for Measure") as well as numerous compositions for plays with music and experimental soundscape operas for dance. Film scores includeMan Rots from Head,Eat, Pauline Alone, Woman in Deep,andGregory Go Boom,which took a 2014 Sundance Grand Jury Prize. Her first score for a feature film, "Lemon" premieres at Sundance Film Festival this January. She is a long time musical and perfomative collaborator in devised theater with the TEAM, Jane Comfort Company, Mark Dendy, Mac Wellman, Big Dance Theater, Taylor Mac, and Witness Relocation. She was recently named one of TimeOut NY's Downtown Innovators To Watch and has been nominated for a Drama League Outstanding Performance Award. Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food or beverage minimum at the tables. DINNER SEATING BEGINS AT 6:30PM.
Please arrive one half hour prior to the show and allow additional time if you are planning to have a dinner.
