2017 TIME SPANS Festival
Scheduled from August 1 to 5, 2017, TIME SPANS 2017 will include five concerts, performed by three of the best North American specialized groups for new repertoire: Talea Ensemble (NYC), JACK Quartet (NYC), and Bozzini Quartet (Montreal). TIME SPANS is dedicated exclusively to the presentation of twenty-first century music. The events will take place at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in Manhattan.
The festival is produced and presented by the Earle Brown Music Foundation (EBMF). Artistic Director for TIME SPANS is Thomas Fichter. The name TIME SPANS is taken from the title of an orchestra piece by the American composer Earle Brown.

August 1, 2017: Talea Ensemble performs Summer Academy Faculty and Resident Composers featuring Mayu Hirano, Hunjoo Jung, Chaya Czernowin, Jason Thorpe Buchanan, Martin Rane Bauck, and Steven Takasugi
August 2, 2017: Talea Ensemble performs Summer Academy Faculty and Resident Composers featuring Sam Salem, Christine Burke, Weston Olencki, Jeffery Shivers, and Hans Tutschku
August 3, 2017: JACK Quartet performs the NY premiere of John Luther Adams' Everything That Rises
August 4, 2017: Bozzini Quartet performs music by Jürg Frey
August 5, 2017: Talea Ensemble performs Hyena by G.F. Haas with Mollena Lee Williams-Haas storytelling
