Tammy McCann" Love Stories..."
Love Stories is a stirring collection of songs that explores love, hurt, forgiveness and renewal. I know we all have love stories, those experiences that shaped us and made us who we are,the smiles and the scars." Tammy McCann
John Clayton, Acclaimed Grammy award winning bassist and producer, says "... It feels like she is whispering a soulful message in your ear she makes words live!
Stanley Crouch, Music and Cultural Critic, says Her pitch is superbclear on the top and startling at the bottom, while all of the steps in between are polished with swing...I have not heard a voice like hers since Dianne Reeves."
Tammy McCann is an internationally recognized Jazz Vocalist and is currently Artist in Residence for the Music Institute of Chicago. The Chicago Tribune has named her Best Jazz Vocal Performance for four consecutive years running. Her powerful, sultry, and emotionally charged voice paints pictures and tells stories by merging Classical vocal technique and Gospel esthetic with Jazz to create a sound that is completely her own. The Chicago Tribunes Arts Critic, Howard Reich says she has, a voice that soars in all registers, at all tempos, on all occasions... a voice that inspires wonder!
At her core, Tammy McCann is a storyteller who draws emotion from and makes connections with her audiences worldwide. Her warm delivery allows her audience to go on the musical journey with her and her engaging personality imprints the memory of her performance on their hearts.
Tammy McCann has performed with such luminaries as Chicago's own Ramsey Lewis and NEA Jazz Masters Von Freeman, John Clayton, Charles McPherson, and Dee Dee Bridgewater, and she toured as a Raelette with the great Ray Charles. She has thrilled audiences in festivals and clubs worldwide as well as the premier Jazz and concert venues in the U.S., including Birdland, The Blue Note, Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center's Dizzys Club Coca Cola and Rose Hall, as well as Chicago's Lyric Opera House, Auditorium Theater and the legendary Jazz Showcase.
