American Masters will feature the Midwest premier of Jeff Beal's "The Salvage Men" and "Poor in Spirit".
Beal, a four-time EMMY winner is an American composer of music for film, media and the concert hall. With musical beginnings as a jazz trumpeter and recording artist, his works are infused with an understanding of rythm and spontaneity. His TV credits include HBO's ROME, CARNIVALE and the Netflix series HOUSE OF CARDS.
The program includes the Midwest premiere of Beal's "The Salvage Men", and "Poor in Spirit", with the composer himself performing on trumpet. Music of Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Randall Thompson and Eric Whitacre will complete this not-to-be-missed concert experience.
