Artist Home Presents: The Great Ballard Chili & Cornbread Cook Off

In 2009, two friends turned a friendly competition to see whose chili recipe was better into a successful event that raised money for the Ballard Food Bank. There were 70 people in attendance, multiple chefs, judges, and a band. Now 3 years later Artist Home Presents (NW festival organizers and event planners) are teaming up with the original chefs to bring back the "Great Ballard Chili Cook Off", adding a cornbread competition and making it bigger and even tastier! There will be a judge's panel of local food critics and celebrities, great chili, cornbread, live music by Shelby Earl and Country Lips all in the Hilliard's Beer taproom.

The mission of this event is to not only have a great gathering of friends from the Ballard Community come together in the name of fun and good food, but also to raise money and awareness for our friends at the Ballard Food Bank. The Ballard Food Bank brings food and hope to many in the Ballard area distributing 1.3 million pounds of food to those in need last year alone!

The Ballard Food Bank is able to provide 15 pounds of food for every $3 raised so even though the minimum price to attend is $10, we encourage you to give more if you can.

Additionally, there will be a collection at the event if you would like to donate any of the following items.

Tickets start at $10. This event is all ages. Babes in arms or laps are free.
