On September 29th, WRIR Presents: A Richmond Music History Tour. Join Richmond music historian Gregg Kimball and his guide assistants as they take you on a two hour journey through your city's music history. From the "Harlem of the South" days of the Hippodrome to the heydays of Drag queens in Carytown to an exclusive peek at the VCU Library archives, the Richmond Music History Tour is sure to be an unforgettable experience. On Saturday, September 29th, there will be two bus tours that will meet at The Camel, one starting at 11AM, the other at 2:30PM. We'll begin the tour with an awesome overview, then the bus journey begins to some of the greatest music history in and around town.
