Our Greatest Year - ONE NIGHT ONLY
OUR GREATEST YEAR is an innovative blend of live stage action and projected motion comics that follows Harvey Pruit, and his new wife, Elton, as they return to Cleveland, OH to care for his ailing father, watch another tortured year of Cleveland professional sports and learn about loss, losing, and the myths we create to make sense of both.
Former Clevelander, Robert Attenweiler (the playwright), has long joked to former Clevelander, Scott Henkle (the comic writer and illustrator), that 2007, at least for Cleveland sports fans, might go down as "our greatest year." The joke is that each of our beloved sports teams (The Cavaliers, Indians and Browns) were more successful than most people believed they'd be and yet still managed to end their season in embarrassing fashion.
OUR GREATEST YEAR was a hit in its debut at The Comic Book Theater Festival in New York City, earning critical praise and being listed as a critic's pick by the New York Times, and at Dobama Theater in Cleveland this spring.
