Colombia Support Network is proud to celebrate its 25 years of non-stopping work for peace and justice in Colombia, by bringing Award-winning poet Lynn Werner who will perform an original solo theater piece with music, dance, poetry and prose based on her eight years documenting human rights abuses in Colombia until she fled in the early 90's. She leads the audience through sugarcane fields to hear the voices of sugar cane cutters, the flight of displaced rural peasants as they flee to urban misery only to have their shacks bulldozed by the military. She also weaves in her own personal story of intimidation inculding her own rape, death threats, and detention by the military.
