About The Youth Orchestra of the Lowcountry: Now in its 40th Season, the Youth Orchestra of the Lowcountry (aka YOLOW) is the Tri-County area's oldest and most advanced musical youth ensemble. Under the baton of Ruben Camacho, this diverse group of young musicians share a passion for music and the dedication to meet the challenge of performing advanced orchestral repertoire as a full symphony orchestra. According to Mr. Camacho, "We want the beauty and discipline involved in learning and performing orchestral music to be interwoven into a much broader perspective. This program is an asset to our community and has so much untapped potential for enriching the lives of our kids." YOLOW has a strong set of beliefs that include the measure of a child's talent should hold no relation to demographics, either socio or economic. Music is the art form and is responsible for the creation of pathways to higher learning and lifelong success.
