Bûche de Noël Competition!
Clyde Common is hosting a friendly Bûche de Noël competition at The Cleaners at Ace Hotel on Sunday, December 11th, from 4 to 7 pm. The entry fee is $10 per person for presale tickets and $15 if you choose to pay at the door.
A Bûche de Noël is a traditional cake usually served around the holidays. They are often referred to as a Yule Log since they are typically shaped like a log!
The competition will host pastry chefs from all around Portland, each of whom will submit a bûche, baked and decorated with their own palate and style in mind. Guests will taste each cake and vote for their favorite!
Our competitors include: Kristen Napoleoni - Clyde Common Lauren Breneman - Beast Amelia Lane - Perfect Company and Portland Culinary Alliance Nicolas Flores - RingSide Steakhouse Anja Spence - Miss Zumstein Tess Paterson and Mary Tanguay- Pearl Bakery
In addition to being able to taste all of the dessert entries, guests will have access to a cash bar for seasonal cocktails!
Guests are also able to enter a raffle, the proceeds of which go to Partners for a Hunger Free Oregon. The winner of the raffle will win the first prize Bûche de Noël, made at a later date by the winning pastry chef.
Although it is a competition, we hope that you join us for a festive, relaxing, pastry-focused holiday event.
