Aladdin
Wyvern Players is presenting a modern British pantomime but still holding to many of the traditional ways of pantomime.
Pantomime (informally panto) has its origins in England and is a type of musical comedy designed for family entertainment. Modern pantomime is usually based on a well-known fairy tale, book or movie. It remains very traditional in nature and includes songs, slapstick comedy and dancing. It also employs gender-crossing actors and combines this with topical humour. It is a participatory form of theatre in which the audience is expected to sing along and shout out phrases to the performers.
This year it is Aladdin January 13, 14 and 15 2017 at the Westbury theatre, ATB Financial Arts Barns in Edmonton. Script by James Barry.
There are 4 performances to choose from, 13th at 7:30pm, 14th at 2:30pm and 7:30pm and 15th at 2:30pm.
Come along and see the real story of the peasant boy and the princess.
