Jivie, as we call him, was born Jonathan David Ivie in Seattle, WA, and his mom was his earliest musical inspiration, as well as first piano teacher. Along the way, he discovered accompanying for hire and musical theater pit orchestras while in high school, got his classical piano degree from Indiana University-Fort Wayne, and has continued to live, breathe, and embody being Covered in Rock ever since. In Phoenix, Jivie music-directed with his former band, The Instant Classics, discovered that the keytar perfectly matched his pink mohawk. He can be found tweeting @jiviethekeytard. In 2011, he ran the successful Arizona-based cabaret group "Martini Social Club" and in 2012 he, his wife, and their 2 Basset Hounds (Callie and Raja) relocated to New York City! Currently, Jivie is working on 'Lost In Love', the Broadway-bound musical in development with the band Air Supply, and is an in-demand accompanist, performance coach, and music director servicing NYC's rock, jazz, theater, cabaret and comedy communities.
