Chef Christopher Israel serves up a warm and delicious holiday dinner at Grüner starting with cocktails and passed bites at his adjacent bar, Kask.
Old-world comfort meets new-world sophistication at Grüner, an intimate restaurant devoted to the warm, hearty flavors of Middle Europe.
Grüner"greener" in Germandraws its culinary influences from a diverse geography, from the pristine Alps to the lower altitudes of the Danube Valley. Terrines and Alsatian flatbreads summon the mountains of France, while spätzles and calves' liver channel Bavarian spirit; farrotto with braised duck conjures Italy's northern climes, and nourishing goulash brings Hungary to mind.

As with any other Portland Food Adventure, Chef Christopher will talk about his favorite hangs in our fair city--Cacao and Wafu, with more to come--and send you on your way with gift certificates to try them--check back for more destinations soon.

IMPORTANT: Please read before buying tickets. We respectfully request that guests REFRAIN FROM SMOKING DURING THE EVENT (this means getting up during the dinner and going outside to smoke, and returning), as this is a communal dining experience. Portland Food Adventures reserves the right to refuse service to any patron who smokes or acts in an inappropriate manner. No refund will be given, since the restaurant will have planned the meal for a particular number of guests. Since this is a communal dining experience we ask you to be respectful of other guests and restaurant employees in every respect. There may be expiration dates for your certificates. Tickets are non-refundable, but buyers may call 503 208 4290 to change the name of the reservation at will-call up 24 hours before the event, if for whatever reason you choose to give the ticket to someone else.
By coming to this event, unless you request otherwise in writing, you acknowledge that there will be Portland Food Adventures photographers at the event, and the use of your image in blogs or for any reasons is authorized by you. Please inform any guests for whom you are buying tickets.
