Neighborhood 5-Year Anniversary Party
We'll folks, it's our five year anniversary. We're not much for celebrating birthdays and what not, but we are extremely grateful and excited for having made it this far. It's been a beautiful struggle, but after much trial and error, we seem to have found our way. We've received sporadic recognition for our normally unrecognized genius. We have considered the facts. We have reviewed our mistakes and taken notes. After five years we think we know what we are doing...more or less anyway. So given these humble accomplishments, we thought it would be a good time to show our gratitude to the people who have supported us through the good, the bad, and the ugly, and to acknowledge the progress our local beer, social, and culinary culture has made over the past five years.
So on Saturday October 20th, from 1pm - 6pm, the good people at the city of San Diego have allowed us to shut down 8th Avenue between Market and G Streets. With the help of Sezio and a handful of the best breweries in town, we are gonna build the best beer garden this city has ever seen...if only for five hours.
Our friends at Stone, Port and Lost Abbey, AleSmith, and Ballast Point are even going to make us something special to commemorate the milestone. And if that wasn't enough, Green Flash, Allagash, Russian River, Dogfish Head and Avery are blessing us with some good shit that you probably have not had before. Of course, we're going to include a few surprises as well...
But wait, there's more! Our neighbors at 5&A Dime and our extended family at El Dorado will be providing us with good music and friends (for any of you that don't currently have some). The SD bike coalition will be providing complementary bike valet since you probably shouldn't be driving any motorized vehicles. Plus, MiHo's going to stop by to slang some food. All in all, we think this will be a great day, and a chance for us to pay our respects and say thanks.
And if that fails, we will, at the very least, finally give people the opportunity to drink damn good beer in the streets.
