The War of the Worlds Radio Show
Extending Halloween by a week, Yellow Sign Theatre presents The War of the Worlds -- a live radio theatre recreation of Orson Welles' infamous October 30, 1938 broadcast.
Legend has it that as a result of Welles' Halloween prank (the show was presented as an "interruption in your regular broadcast") hundreds of Americans ran for the hills, believing that the Earth was actually being invaded by Martians.
Featuring the live sound effects artistry of Foley master Dave Marcoot, directed by Craig Coletta, and starring Pat Brennan, Doug Jognson, Mike Jancz, Michael Cornett, Tracey Cherton, apitha Kix,Scott Burke, Lee Conderacci, Amanda Gunther, and Jon Freedlander.
This is a recreation of radio theatre featuring live practical sound effects of the period.
Tickets $8 on line, $10 at the door.
