Our production will be focusing on various social issues in our society, such as the struggles of the LGQBT community, bullying, homelessness, religion, God, depression, love, and essentially the concept of how we are all connected. The moral of the play, simply put, is that if you seek help you will receive it. Our goal with this production is to generate change, spread compassion and give the audience a new perspective on various issues in our society.
Our first act will be the one act play. A heartfelt dramedy, the synopsis of A Philosophical Protest revolves around a stereotypical businessman who happens upon a beautiful woman named Phoebe, currently in the mist of experiencing a break-down on the curb of a New York City side-walk while she begins to stage a protest against God. After a short interaction, Phoebe convinces the man to protest with her. They begin to discuss love, loss, depression, God and the struggles of simply being alive. However, we find light at the end of the tunnel when Man (also known as Mr. Abbatelli) reminds Phoebe that things are not as bad as they seem. Secrets are revealed and a beautiful friendship is formed. Is their timely meeting a coincidence? You decide.
Our second act completes the show with a one act Cabaret.. All performers will be singing cover songs as well as original pieces related to the above theme and will include a opening and closing number
Overall, the production will be a beautiful revelation of how connected we all are, how important it is to have compassion, and how wonderful life can truly be when we all come together.
