LGB2NETWORK PRESENTS CLIFF MAY MID-CENTURY MODERN HOUSE TOUR THURSDAY, AUGUST 16, 2012 FROM 6-9PM LOCATION: LAKEWOOD RANCHO ESTATES (Various Locations) ADMISSION/DONATION $10 Are you a fan of Mid-Century Modernism? On August 16, 2012 LGB2NETWORK will host aMid-Century Rancho Architectural Tourfrom 6pm-9pm.It is an exclusive invitation-only event to LGB2NETWORK members with very limited availability. The evening will feature tours of four homes designed by famed California architect Cliff May located in the Lakewood Rancho Estates neighborhood adjacent to El Dorado Park in Long Beach. CultureSpectator.comwebsite Founder and former President of the Museum of Latin American Art in Long BeachRichard Townsend,along with Mid-Century experts and real estate power coupleDoug and Rochelle KramerwithRanchoStyle.com will take us on a guided tour of four of the best preserved houses and most fashionable interiors. A progressive party, at each home on the tour guests will enjoy hosted hors d'oeuvres and a signature cocktail themed to each home, specially mixed by the host! About our tour guides: Richard Townsend, an independent art historian, and founder of the cultural commentary website Culture Spectator (CultureSpectator.com or @CultureSpectator), has an extensive background in modern and contemporary architecture. From 2001-06 he was Executive Director of Price Tower Arts Center (pricetower.org), a cultural attraction housed in Frank Lloyd Wright's only skyscraper. He and his partner have lived in architecturally significant houses over the past decade. Townsend has had a museum career spanning over twenty years and was most recently President and CEO of the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach. Doug and Rochelle Kramer have specialized in Mid-Century Modern architecture in their real estate business, becoming leaders in the field in Southern California since 2003. Their websites RanchoStyle.com and SoCalModern.com offer not only the latest in modernist houses for sale but historical information focusing on Cliff May and his rancho designs but helpful hints on preservation and renovation. They live in a 1953 Cliff May rancho in the Lakewood Rancho Estates neighborhood.
